Draw dots in a grid on the board.
Have a list of questions or vocabulary words students should know the answers to.
Chalk
Speaking
Ask the first team a question or to give you three vocabulary words from a category.
If they are correct, they can come and draw two lines on the board connecting two dots.
Then ask the next team a question, let them come up to the board and draw two new lines.
The lines they draw don’t have to connect, and they can only be horizontal or vertical.
If a team makes a square by drawing their two lines, they get that square and ten points.
Continue until the squares have all been completed.
Make the questions or amount of vocabulary words harder so not every team gets their lines.
Have students draw three lines to speed the game up.Â
7-16
15 - 20 minutes
Increase the difficulty of questions or the number of vocabulary words required to earn the chance to draw lines, ensuring not every team gets their turn easily.
Allow students to draw three lines each turn instead of two to speed up the game and make it more dynamic.
Introduce penalties for incorrect answers, such as losing the opportunity to draw lines or giving the opposing team a chance to draw, to add a competitive edge.
