Introduce the text, read it with the whole class repeating after you.
Now introduce the scoring chart.
Explain how students lose 5 points by not reading.
Get the first team to stand up and start reading the text.
Walk next to the students and listen to them reading.
When they are finished, put your chalk at the bottom of the scoring chart, and slowly move it up to their score.
Repeat for next teams.

Add milestones to the board, so students have incentives to reach different targets.
Instead of reading a text, students could read out answers to questions that they have studied (works best with questions that have answers that can vary)
Individualize the task and call students instead of teams
