Create a maze on the board with flashcards.
Write the direction phrases on the board.
Blindfold
Listening
Call up one student from the first team.
Give them a chalk and place it on the start dot, then place a blindfold on their head.
Their team must then give them directions to the finish.
If they hit a flashcard, minus points from their total.Â
When they make it give their team points, clear the line from the board.
Draw two new start and finish spots on the board and repeat for the next team.Â
To make it more difficult, give each direction a vocabulary word, that the student must remember. (Up = orange, down = meat, right = pencil)
6-16
10 - 15 minutes
Instead of drawing new start and finish spots, move the flashcards around to create a new path for each round.
Add obstacles such as imaginary walls where students need to use specific vocabulary to "unlock" and proceed.
Allow the team to use a limited number of "hints" where they can give direct directional commands instead of vocabulary-based ones to help the blindfolded student.
