The classroom is small, equipped with a projector and speakers (borrowed from the classroom in use), but there is no air conditioning.
The school has an auditorium (but it is not used for classes).
Teachers can take breaks in the teachers’ room during recess.
The students are very noisy and disruptive (especially 9th graders). The school has many advanced English classes, but only the first 1-2 classes have good English proficiency, while the rest are at an average level.
Students are not very interested in this subject; however, if the teacher knows how to manage the class and make the lessons engaging, the students will still participate.
Students study in their regular classrooms.
Dress Code and Professional Conduct:
Male teachers must wear a shirt, trousers, and a tie.
Female teachers must dress in appropriate professional attire.
Teachers must wear a name tag while teaching at the school.
Punctuality:
The school has a department that monitors teachers’ punctuality, so teachers are required to adhere strictly to the school schedule.
Teachers must be at the classroom door 5 minutes before the lesson starts (both at the beginning of the day and after breaks), not waiting until the bell rings to head to class.
Professional Requirements:
Teachers must be dynamic, experienced, and ensure high teaching quality.
Lesson preparation and teaching must follow the allocated curriculum.
Do not cover content that is the responsibility of Vietnamese teachers.
Teachers are expected to incorporate a variety of activities to practice speaking skills.
The school encourages the use of technology in lessons to make them more engaging and exciting, increasing students’ interest in the subject.
Teachers must have classroom management experience and avoid shouting at or scolding students. Teachers should use professional language and avoid any words or actions that may offend or demean students.
Teaching Assistants (TAs) must have classroom management skills, be strict with students, and support teachers. However, they should not be overly harsh, as the students at this school tend to be very disruptive.
TAs should know how to handle situations appropriately, maintain a positive, friendly, and respectful attitude. If unsure how to handle a situation, they must report it to the center instead of acting independently.
TAs must maintain a polite and professional demeanor, avoid bright or unconventional hair dye, and always be punctual.
TAs must record information in the class logbook carefully and completely, following the instructions provided by the CO/CS.
If a TA needs to request a substitute, they must proactively provide the substitute with school information, the school map, and instructions for filling out the class logbook.
