Notes for Supplementary materials:
The materials are designed to help Grade 9 students prepare for the Pronunciation and Reading Comprehension sections of the high school entrance test.
- Pronunciation theory (pages 1–6): This section provides key rules and practical tips on how to pronounce the endings –s/–es and –ed, as well as how to identify the correct stress pattern in multisyllabic words.
- Reading Comprehension: In this section, students practice answering different types of questions, including identifying True/False statements, choosing the best answer for the main idea, deciding whether information is mentioned or not mentioned, and recognizing synonyms and antonyms from the passage.
- In each lesson, teachers should remind students of the pronunciation rules and tips to reinforce their understanding and application.
Test:
Note for the speaking test: After the speaking test, the teacher should announce the students’ scores and address any questions or concerns they may have regarding the results.
