REGULATIONS ON TEACHING ASSISTANTS

Dress: Wear office clothes, wear polite shoes.

Demeanor: Do not dye hair light colors, neat.

Attitude - Communication:

✔️ Use pedagogical language, avoid using offensive or disparaging words with students.

✔️ Keep an appropriate distance from students during communication and interaction activities.

✔️ Maintain a serious attitude during teaching hours, avoid joking or teasing words.

Time: Be present in class 5-10 minutes early to help stabilize class order (must be present in class before the second bell)

Experience:

✔️ Teaching assistants have a degree or major in English or Pedagogy.

✔️ Teaching assistants have experience.

✔️ Support translating for the class.

✔️ Prepare lessons before coming to class to support teachers and students.

Class management:

✔️ Because students are quite unruly and have an attitude of not caring about the subject, TAs need to be more experienced and strict in managing the class.

✔️ TAs work seriously and support teachers in managing the class, record students who cause disorder, lack of concentration and report to CS.

✔️ Coordinate with teachers to manage the class, pay attention to individual cases to report to the school.

✔️ Have appropriate forms of punishment, do not punish students too severely.

Report:

✔️ If there are unusual problems arising in the class related to teachers and students such as: teachers are absent, late, students are uncontrolled and disorderly, ... then TAs must immediately report to CS for support in handling.

✔️ Implement support in recording the class logbook according to school regulations.

✔️ If the TA takes leave, he/she must ensure to fully hand over information about class characteristics and school requirements to the TA Supervisor and TA sub so that the TA sub can properly implement school regulations and avoid mistakes during the work process.

• GVNN supports the school in testing speaking (or possibly listening) at the end of each semester

• Do not change teachers during the testing period

• TC and AC attend teacher classes and need to have a form for teacher observation to send back to the school

• Print the final grade sheet of each semester

Requirements for Foreign teachers: Read the script in advance, follow the script content, have good coordination with TA, Marketing team and departments, Foreign teachers does not arbitrarily change the script according to their own ideas. Need Foreign teachers to be dynamic, energetic, enthusiastic, cheerful, good-looking. Have experience in event work.

• Teachers and Teaching Assistants need to be in the classroom 2-3 minutes before the lesson starts.

• Drive directly to the parking lot.

• During class transitions, teachers should manage their time efficiently to move to the next class quickly and start on time.

• At the end of each lesson, TAs and teachers should remind students to maintain cleanliness and not to litter.

• At the end of the school day (after the last lesson of each session), TAs/teachers should remind students to clean up. TAs/teachers should wipe the board and check to ensure that lights, fans, and other electrical devices are turned off before leaving the classroom.

• Regarding the personal belongings of Vietnamese teachers (the homeroom teachers of each class), TAs and teachers should not use them without permission (e.g., speakers, rulers, pens, books, etc.). These items may only be used after asking for permission from the Vietnamese teachers. Chalk and board erasers can be used, but after use, they must be returned neatly to their original place.

• If TAs or teachers smoke, they must find a place far from the school to do so, ensuring that students do not see them.
